December 3, 2006 – CYMC came out to represent in the East Bay in Artists 4 Solutions to Violence, a night of performances organized by the Caribbean Youth Project!!! CYMC youth filmmaker Elliott McGregor’s “The Real State of Emergency” had its premiere East Bay screening and touched the hearts of many audience members.

We are proud to be a part of the solution to the violence that is claiming our young brothers and sisters on the streets of Oakland and San Francisco. It was empowering to be around so many young artists bringing positive and conscious energy to create change and awareness in our communities. Arsenio from the DJ Project, Trinidad and the Faculty Boys from Youth Movement Records, and young ladies from YouthSpeaks were some of the talented young artists keeping it real at the Ashkenaz. CYMC filmmaker Elliott McGregor got much love and applause during the Q&A following the screening of “The Real State of Emergency.”
